Where is a good place for an expatriate family to live?

This depends on the expatriate family’s life style, income level, location of schools or any other factor that may influence their choice. The two most widely available choices for residential properties in Bahrain would be villas and apartments. Villas could be privately owned or part of a compound in a gated community. Apartments are available in varied forms, in low and high-rise structures, which come with basic to ultra-modern amenities.

Hamala, Jasra, Saar, Janabiya, Budaiya, Adliya, Riffa Views, Amwaj are amongst the various popular residential areas given the abundance of individual villas and villas in compounds, which lends a suburban city feel. Amwaj is a completely man-made island, which gives a different life style compared to the rest of Bahrain for people who enjoy the beach life. Amwaj has been famous for the trendy new beach going families, with plenty to offer in their own little cocoon of an island, that don’t feel or hear or smell anything but the crisp sea air.

Other areas in Bahrain such as Juffair and Seef offer an abundance of restaurants, entertainment venues and various other services. The presence of the US Naval Base in Juffair makes it one of the favorite destinations for anyone seeking an upbeat lifestyle. Alternatively, Seef has Bahrain’s biggest shopping complexes, which houses all the major brands from across the world.
